KILIMANJARO IS THE

tallest mountain

IN AFRICA

Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano that boasts incredible natural beauty and a range of terrains. It is comprised of three different volcanic cones: Shira, Kibo and Mawenzi. The tallest peak is called Uhuru and is located on Kibo. Kibo is not extinct, but nevertheless the last major eruption occurred hundreds of thousands of years ago and the volcano only showed some activity 200 years ago.

Kili is the tallest free standing mountain in the world, as it is not part of a mountain range. Our trek will span seven days with the company Summit Trails. In June, there is limited snowfall in comparison with other times of the year, so the time is the best for trekking.

With high morale and determination, we are excited to reach Uhuru Peak!
